Overview
What it is.
A camera crane, or jib arm, is a counterbalanced arm that sweeps a camera through overhead and reveal moves. Ours are Stanton Jimmy Jib Triangles, one modular arm that builds to nine lengths from 6 ft 10 in to 40 ft. We have several, so a show can run more than one, and each goes out with a remote head and the required technicians.

Arm reach is measured from the tripod fulcrum to the camera. The top strut is added at 9 feet, side struts at 18 feet, and the 40-foot MEGA uses a four-wheel base with a 25 lb camera-package limit. Every shorter size carries up to 50 lb with accessories.
